- Clinical Branches converts text-based procedures, guidelines and ward lists into intelligent digital support tools, which allow clinicians to make the right decisions quickly.
- The tool works on the premise 'If you make it easy for clinicians to make the right decisions quickly, then you will see changes in behaviour'. As such, Clinical Branches boasts an average of 48.1 seconds information retrieval time
- The tool allows development and collaboration on clinical content via our pathway development canvas and 'clinical credits' collaboration platform. Services can subscribe to decision support rules, calculators, and content at their discretion with assurance that it will be checked rigorously via the platform's in built governance tool.
- Clinical Branches is available for use by any health service with a freeware and 'paid premium' offering to support any budget.

The Open Source Antimicrobial Stewardship (OSAMS) application has demonstrated clear reductions in broad spectrum antimicrobial usage, improved switch to oral times and has demonstrated excellent results in staff feedback surveys, ranking as the most clinically useful and useable application in one staff survey of clinical applications used.
Nomination for Exemplary Clinical Practice by the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care
In 2021 the OSAMS project was nominated for exemplary clinical practice by the assessors from the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care. The accreditation review found that the application was:

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you available for private contracts?
We do not provide services for developing bespoke applications. However, if there is a genuine need for a feature within the Clinical Branches framework then we would be more than happy to develop a module for your request.
Our institution is hesitant to use cloud based solutions. Can the Clinical Branches platform be hosted internally?
Yes and no, to fully utilise the platform it requires communication between different institutions to share pathways and share ideas. We can certainly place the platform on a private server and have a private database, but we will also need to access the platform content repository which must be shared. We only house data in Australia on IRAP / ISO 27001 / SOC 2 compliant servers, Kraken Coding hold CSA STAR 1 attestation and ISO 27001 certification and are undergoing ISO 13485 certification.
We can support implementation of the platform for remote locations or deployments with intermittent internet connection, however to receive updates and to sync with the main database tablets or laptops would need to reconnect to the cloud periodically.
Can we speak to clients currently using your software solutions?
Yes definitely, we can provide referees actively using any of our applications, or can provide the names of Health Services currently using our software if you would like to conduct your own independent check.
